We looked at the big software platforms. Every one of them was built for giant HVAC shops with an office full of staff — too expensive, too complicated, and none of them knew a well cap from a clean-out. Then we taught it to check our own work with AI, so an obvious mistake never makes it to a homeowner. Then we gave every report a permanent memory — full version history, photos that can't be lost, delivery you can prove — because inspection reports are legal documents and deserve to be treated like it.

Every field on every checklist, every price, every little workflow detail — it all came from real jobs. The well template alone runs 101 structured fields, distilled from over a hundred real reports. Not a focus group. Not a whiteboard. Actual wells. Actual tanks. Actual mud on the boots.

The contractor behind Inspection Butler holds the credentials the software is built around: NC Certified Well Contractor (license #4522-C), NC Certified Point-of-Sale Septic Inspector, and NC Septic Installer (Level IV), operating an EPA-certified water lab at WNC Independent Labs. Those same license numbers appear on the reports our own customers receive — matched automatically to the right report type. When your license signs the report, the software better get it right; ours does, because ours is on the line too.
